Our Story
Meet Walter S. Mitchell, Jr., CLU, ChFC
As founder and president of the Mitchell Financial Group, Inc., Walter has been providing life insurance and retirement plan protection and advice for several decades.
He has earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations form the American College in Bryn Mawr, PA. He served his industry as president of the PA Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors from 1993-1994.
Walter's interests include community, regional, and professional theatre (he performed his first role at the age of 8!) and duplicate bridge (he's a Silver Life master with the American Contract Bridge League).
Mitchell is the Mayor of Bear Creek Village Borough in Luzerne County, where he also served a short stint as Controller in 2013. He is a graduate of Lafayette College.
Married to the former Connie Hemenway, they have a son and six grandchildren.
